MASS TIMBER WAREHOUSE

Industrial Warehouses with Showroom and Offices

Moorabbin, Victoria

Completed 2025

This project is one of the first of its kind in Australia. Replacing all structural steel elements with mass timber, the industrial/showroom was developed by Goodman Group at their Chifley Business Park, located at Moorabbin Airport. Our office was engaged by the head contractor HTroon to detail and document the 5 Star Green Star project and we relished the opportunity to work with timber structure on such a large scale.

Canopy at Chifley is characterised by the exposed timber structural members on display throughout building. The celebration of timber as a design feature creates a distinguished aesthetic with a warm welcoming atmosphere. The ability to prefabricate large glulam structural members facilitated large column spacings to maximise operational flexibility. The use of engineered timber in Canopy at Chifley reduced the developments carbon footprint by an estimated 24% compared to a similar steel development.
